A friend of mine told me that Pennsylvania went into a state of emergency, I don't see this anywhere, but he's not the type to BS about stuff like this. (He works in PA and lives in NJ, so this would directly effect him as well)

I know Fox News said New Jersey did, but I don't even know where to look this information up. CNN.com doesn't say anything, can anyone confirm or deny this for me?

NBC 10 is reporting that Delaware and PA have both announced State's of Emergencies with NJ considering the same. I live in Newark, DE and it's currently snowing like crazy. I had to go out to the store earlier this morning and it was nasty, definately don't recommend it unless you *have* to. Eitherway, drive slow and safe, otherwise you'll end up off the road easy.

Forgive my ignorance but if they do announce state of emergency, that means the roads are closed to everyone except emergency vehicles, plows, ambulance, police, etc? Is that correct?

I am supposed to work tonight, but if they call SOE, I can't go in, right?

I live in NJ and it was just on the news that they have upped the snowfall to 18-24 inches by the time its done. I love snow though. I was off anyway tomorrow. :)

According to the news, that's correct. I don't believe it's exactly "illegal" to drive, but they don't want anyone on the roads unless it's absolutely required. I'd call work and ask what to do. I work in Christiana Mall and they closed so it was no issue for me.

State of Emergency - Officially means only essential personnel are to be on the roads. No state declaration (in PA) that I am aware of, but the NWS has tons of warnings up and it is snowing like mad here in NE PA.

Well I work at Wal-mart and they never close. I know what their "answer" will be("can you make it in?") so that's why I was hoping for a state mandated day off ;)
