OK I'm running an XP1700 on a Soyo Dragon+ - 266A - (and I also have an Abit KR7A)
Running Crucial PC2100
I was planning on waiting to upgrade about 6 months from now when 3G chips are more reasonable. The current spate of good fortune with 2100+Bs has me wondering if I couldn't get a quick interim boost for cheap.
$100 for a cpu, $20 for improved air cooling (an upgrade that could move forward), I might even spring for some faster memory (since that could carry forward too). But if I need a new mobo I would just wait because who knows what we be out in 6 mo's time and I will certainly need a new board then.
So what do you think - will a 2100+ provide a useful increase in performance with a 266A board?
