Yet another touchpad thread (stuck in service/test mode?)

Mine just arrived. It wouldn't boot so I tried holding down the power and navi buttons for 15 seconds. That put me into some kind of service mode that just keeps powering the tablet off when I finish it.

Does anyone know how to get into the actual WebOS from here? Thanks!

Nah, looks like I just got a one in a billion touchpad that hadn't been switched out of service mode before leaving the factory.

All I had to find was the right button combo. Power button plus the volume up button put it in USB mode and from there I was able to run WebOS Doctor. Firmware is now updated, logging is off, device is tweaked and as soon as this bad boy hits 100% charge I will be in business.

Loving it so far.

You do realize that your touchpad was probably worth a whole lost more stuck in service mode to the people that are trying to port android to it, and you just went and blew it.

Well, a couple of points.

It wasn't in 'service' mode so much as it was stuck in an endless loop of a hardware test mode. It was just a tech test to make sure the screen was calibrated correctly, gyro was working, etc. Once you passed the test you couldn't do anything else.

Second, those folks already got their hands on another touchpad that already had a running Android image on it. They have dumped that image and you can now install it on your touchpad if you like. This is FAR more valuable than some rinky dink hardware test mode.

Finally, I believe that if you press power+center+volup when booting the touchpad it will bring you back into that test mode. Haven't tried it yet as I *just* got it and had to go to work before I could play with it.
