Hi all,

Sorry for yet another system design question. But I'm pretty lost right now, so I'd appreciate any help possible :)

I haven't been keeping up with the tech news since I built my Celeron 300, and things seem to have gotten quite a bit more complicated (and I've gotten lazier). Several different kinds of RAM, mobo chipsets, Intel and AMD in a tight race...I'm not sure which to choose for the best value. Money is not a big issue, but I'd rather not get the latest and greatest if there's something just a little bit below for a substantial discount. I'd rather not overclock this time around. Any suggestions?

(From what little I've read so far, waiting for Radeon 9700 seems to be a good idea...right?)

Thanks in advance :)

AMD is still the most cost-effective solution. As for everything else, I suggest reading the FAQ's and the reviews. I could write a small book addressing everything. Good luck.

The 9700 looks to be a good alternative to the 9700 Pro...just a little slower.
