Yet another stupid n00b question, how do you rename files?

I have dvd.img but for some reason nero 6.6 ultra doesn't support .img files. I've read in quite a few places that I can rename dvd.img to dvd.iso and that will fix the problem but I can't rename it!

If I right click on the file and click rename, it turns into dvd.img.iso. How the hell do I rename it so that it's dvd.iso?

Go to folder options and uncheck hide extensions for known file types.

3. Explorer.exe -> Tools -> Folder Options -> View Tab -> Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types."

Uhh...Click F2 when the file is highlighted.

Tools --> Folder Options --> view --> uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" --> ok --> right click file --> rename

Modify appropriately.

Don't go to File > Open.

Go to Burn Image Files

And this isn't really renaming a file, it's changing the extension.
