Yet Another Riddle

xanis

Lifer
This was emailed to me by a friend:

I turn polar bears white
and I will make you cry.
I make guys have to pee
and girls comb their hair.
I make celebrities look stupid
and normal people look like celebrities.
I turn pancakes brown
and make your champane bubble.
If you sqeeze me, I'll pop.
If you look at me, you'll pop.

I'm thinking its air or heat or something simple like that but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

EDIT: This was also attached: "97% of Harvard graduates can not figure this riddle out, but 84% of kindergarten students were able to figure this out in 6 minutes or less. Can you figure it out?"

Your missing the end. It goes "Can you guess the riddle?" and 87% of kindergartners will go no. thats why.

The time has come,
winter is here
and those yellow bears disapear.

The time has past
as man looks back with a sigh
and a tear in his eye.

As time is held
boys cross their legs
but of course the toilet begs

As time marches on
Girls loose their blush
and swap a comb for their brush

As time passes
For those held high
their end is nigh

As time catches up
Everyone is equal
when we get to the final sequal

As time turns
Without it we have flour and water
With it we have breakfast for my daughter

As time revolves
How does one turn water and wine
into something so fine

As time runs out
The more in a minute you try and squeeze
the less you can do with ease.

As time ticks
All the time that has past
man cannot comprehand something so vast.

That's a bullshst answer, even for a riddle.

"As time marches on
Girls loose their blush
and swap a comb for their brush"

Are you kidding me?

Yeah, I don't like it when I can't solve a riddle, but at least there's an excuse for this one.

You do realize that "pressure" is a valid answer for this riddle.
😉

No, it isn't.
Yes it is. What are you, Loke's little butt buddy or something?

Explain.

Yet another quality post. I can't imagine where AT would be without your insightful 56.15 posts per day.

Okie doke:

I turn polar bears white: gotta stretch out onto a limb for this one, but the pressure is low on the poles, making it colder. a polar bear is white, the lighter a color, the more heat it absorbs -OR- evolutionary pressure led to white being the color

and I will make you cry: gotta stretch for this one, too, but if the pressure is too high or low it can cause someone to feel uncomfortable and cry.. I've seen people cry on planes and stuff

I make guys have to pee: pressure on your bladder = have to pee

and girls comb their hair.: peer pressure makes girls comb their hair.. or else they wouldn't.. cavewomen didn't comb their hair 😛

I make celebrities look stupid: celebrities crack under pressure.. making themselves look stupid

and normal people look like celebrities.: most normal people will do very good under pressure, making them look good, like celebrities

I turn pancakes brown: the pressure created from heat turns pancakes brown

and make your champane bubble.: champagne bubbles until the pressure of the carbonation leaves

If you sqeeze me, I'll pop.: if you squeeze something under pressure, it pops

If you look at me, you'll pop.: if you're looking at pressure (ie airplane) your ears can pop

NOTE: I didn't do all these on my own.. not trying to take credit

I think you guys missed the point.. there is no solution to that riddle, but as Rinuan pointed out, part of it is missing.. the OP is missing the end of the actual "riddle", which asks "Can you guess the riddle?", and most kindergarten kids would probably say "No", hence the (obviously made up) statistic.

That's wrong. Light colors don't absorb more heat, they absorb less.
and I will make you cry: gotta stretch for this one, too, but if the pressure is too high or low it can cause someone to feel uncomfortable and cry.. I've seen people cry on planes and stuff
Yeah, that is a bit of a stretch.
I make guys have to pee: pressure on your bladder = have to pee
Agreed.
and girls comb their hair.: peer pressure makes girls comb their hair.. or else they wouldn't.. cavewomen didn't comb their hair 😛
So, people take showers because of peer pressure, and play games because of peer pressure, or... Yeah, that's flawed.
I make celebrities look stupid: celebrities crack under pressure.. making themselves look stupid
Agreed.
and normal people look like celebrities.: most normal people will do very good under pressure, making them look good, like celebrities
Now you're contradicting yourself. You just said celebrities crack under pressure, now you say they look good. Wonderful argument there.
I turn pancakes brown: the pressure created from heat turns pancakes brown
In a vague sense, I suppose.
and make your champane bubble.: champagne bubbles until the pressure of the carbonation leaves
Wrong explanation, but right idea.
If you sqeeze me, I'll pop.: if you squeeze something under pressure, it pops
That's not what it says. You'd have to squeeze pressure itself. That doesn't make any sense.
If you look at me, you'll pop.: if you're looking at pressure (ie airplane) your ears can pop
That has nothing to do with looking at pressure, nor do ears popping have to do with "you" popping.

If there is no answer, then a "no" and IS the answer. Two more accurate answers are "yes" in that, yes I can guess because there is no answer, and "you" since the riddle is littered with "I" do this and "I" do that.
