I bought one of these last time. It worked for a month, then died. Fortunately ATI kindly RMA'd it w/ no questions asked. (I'd even taken off the heat sink to put on one of those Zalman Heatpipe Silent Cooling deals.

That's a Sapphire in the link, so to anyone who gets a bad one, the card can't be RMA'd to ATI, you'd have to deal with newegg, which isn't a bad thing either.

Sapphire is not the best refurb vendor IMO. Two out of three Sapphire 9800pro refurbs I've ordered from newegg where bad. One was DOA and the other was clearly defective (couldn't run 3D apps at all).

a good amount i assume

with the 256 bit available ~$170 (bananapc.com) there is no reason to get the 128

A 9800SE also has 128bit and it's speeds are equivalent to the 9600 pro i think, or somewhere within that range. It is pretty noticable in other words.

No, unfortunately what you reference at Bananapc is also a neutered 9800 "pro".

I'm still waiting like you guys to hear from the brave few who have admitted to ordering from them. From everything I've gathered reading these forums and "WalletsofFatness" forums, buyextremegear seems to be lying. They keep giving different responses about what the hell it is they are selling. One time they said they were selling 3 different brands of cards, OEM but couldn't tell you which you would receive. Another email they said it was Sapphire but the guy couldn't tell you if it was 256 or 128. And still another claims that it is a Sapphire OEM 256bit. That's at least 3 versions of what they are selling, and looking at their resellerratings, that's why I believe they are lying. Best of luck getting an RMA or refund from them if it is a 128bit.
