USA and steel import tariffs

Why was this thread locked? Really I'm just curious, it seemed to be a pretty rational discussion about the government and tariffs as they're applied to foreign countries. Usually it's pretty clear why a thread is locked (repost, flaming mods, against the rules), but lately it looks like someone is just randomly shooting down every 10th thread or so...
