Hi Fellow Geeks,
I know there has been a lot of threads on antivirus software but how does ZoneAlarm compare as a true AntiVirus detection program?

Is it better then Nortons?

ZoneAlarm is firewall software. It doesn't necessarily work as virus protection. Instead, it blocks out unauthorized access to your computer from the internet or your network. Norton also has its own firewall software called Internet Security, I belive. I don't know how they compare though.

The favorite firewalls at this forum seem to be Kerio and Sygate. Both have free, personal versions that you can download.

Ah. My mistake. ZA now has a version that bundles AV software. From the datasheet, it seems that their AV software is actually Computer Associate's AV, which doesn't score as well as Norton in antivirus tests.

Computer Associate's AV suite is called eTrust. You can see how it compares to Norton in Schadenfroh's AV roundup:
