Yet another problem with aim ads...

If you block aim ads (ads.web.aol.com) by say, using peerguardian or your firewall, aim will not log on, either that or it will disconnect.

That is what is happening to me right now.

I do have DeadAIM installed, but it doesn't get rid of the "talking" ads.

Anyone aware of a way to get around this? Maybe aol "smartened" up to all the people using things that block their ads. Grrr....

Why have I never seen these ads? I use AOL's Instant Messneger. Maybe I should stick with my old version!

I am running AIM version 5.2.3292 using DeadAIM version 3.2.1 (I cannot find a d/l of 3.2.8; they all install as "3.2.1"). Also using peerguardian 1.99pr7 with latest blocklist updates (peergurdian does block quite a few ads from some webpages). When I have peerguardian running, aim will not log on. When I have aim running and logged on, then I start peergurdian, it will disconnect.
