What's funny is I know a few kids under 8 that have a 3DS and have no problems with it.

No, 8 and under is about right. Using the stereoscopic mode for kids under 8 is advised against as it may cause developmental vision problems. The 2DS was in part designed to be a 3DS offering without the stereoscopic capabilities as the health warnings were scaring off some parents.

I'll tell you with the flu I have and major migrains the last week or so, I've turned the 3D off while playing Zelda. That is some headache inducing stuff even when you get used to it (I wonder if my eyes are cross-eyed when I'm playing). It's a shame I'm living with migraisn right now and I'm so addicted to Zelda I can't put it down until it's finished.

The 3D hasn't bothered me but I have noticed that after I've played for awhile I have difficulty focusing on other things for 5 minutes or so.
