Sunday evening, I ordered this printer.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...el-_-Content-_-text-_-

Tuesday morning at 8:30am EST, I called to have the order cancelled.
They said it has already shipped that I should refuse the package.

Wednesday(Today) at 8:54am, I recieve an email from Newegg telling me that my order has shipped with the included tracking number.
My first thought was WTF?

I track the package and see it's out for delivery. It's 2:30pm and I'm going to work. I told my brother that if UPS delivers a package that he should refuse it.
I come home and don't see any package. My brother said UPS stopped accross the street, but didn't stop here.

I check online for the tracking information, it says it was delivered at 4:12pm on the front porch.
I called UPS. They say they have proof of the delivery that it was delivered at 4:12pm. The note the driver left them was that it was delivered "behind a bush". I checked the bushes around my house and didn't see any package. I asked him what happened to requiring signatures? He said "That's up to the supplier to require it". I asked him what is this proof of delivery? How can one prove something like this especially without a signature? Just word of mouth? He says "when the driver delivers the package, they scan it out."
That still doesn't prove that it was delivered to the correct house.
Does UPS ever knock on the door for anything at all?

1.) How can one refuse a package if UPS justs leaves it on the front porch?
2.) How can one refuse a package if you don't recieve it?

If I don't see a resolution to this issue within 2 weeks I will be doing a chargeback.
I've had credit cards for 7 years and I've never had to do(or attempt to do) a chargeback on any issue at all before.
This is ridiculous. I don't know whether to throw my anger at UPS, Newegg, or both.

They usually process orders the next business day. You should have called on Monday morning to cancel the order.

If you do a chargeback Newegg "blacklists" you. One of my roommates did and Newegg won't do business w/ him anymore (no one with his name and from his address).

If you explain to them that you couldn't refuse the package because UPS just left it at your door, they should be able to help you w/ the return. Usually they'll email a prepaid UPS label to you and give you a full refund (item + shipping).

How about neither? you made a mistake my friend. chalk it up, take a 15% prestocking fee plus shipping costs sending it back. you ordered it sunday and they shipped tuesday, you had at least 24 hours to cancel the order.

Yeah...I called back to cancel an order once less than 5 hours after ordering an item. It had already been processed and shipped. Damn them for their fast shipping!!!!! Funny how that works...

if ups dropped it off..its on him now. he needs to contact ups most likely. Newegg fulfilled there end of the deal. he ordered something they sent it. UPS is at fault here

no. UPS say they dropped it off. they said "The note the driver left them was that it was delivered "behind a bush". I checked the bushes around my house and didn't see any package."

so they claim to h ave droped it off but he does not have the package. UPD just claims they did and they have no proof that they did.

but he also said his brother says they stoped across the street. odds are that is where the item is.

Contact newegg. Tell them the package was never recieved. Walk across the street and ask the neighbor if they recieved your package by mistake. If the package shows up, write "return to sender package refused" and drop it off at a UPS drop location.

All in all this was a pretty lame rant. I always have to wonder at the amount of people on here who automatically jump to the "I am gonna do a chargeback". In this case it is not warranted.

So you never even got the thing you paid for? So you can't even attempt to either use it or recoup your costs? Seems to me you should be mad at UPS. They always fuck up when delivering stuff to residences (e.g., dropping stuff off at the wrong address, leaving an "attempted delivery" notice without even knocking on the door, etc.). They do okay for sending stuff to businesses. I think you generally get the same UPS driver delivering stuff to a particular business for long periods of time and they develop a working relationship with the shipping/receiving department at those businesses. Residential customers are no one to them.

i'm having trouble following your post. did you receive the item or not?

regardless, i cannot begin to see how newegg is at fault.
and if UPS delivered the item, it's not their fault you weren't home to refuse it. UPS is right, they do not require signature to confirm delivery. that is optional. they've been leaving boxes at my door step for years without anyone being home to sign for it.

if you are to be mad at anyone, it's yourself.

Read the OP again, carefully. Far as I know, this is what happened:

- OP calls to cancel order, is told to refuse package upon delivery
- OP is not home, but his brother is. OP tells him to refuse the package if/when the UPS guy shows up to deliver it
- During the course of the day, despite their being someone at home the whole time, the UPS guy never shows up and the package doesn't arrive.
- Online tracking says the package was delivered and left behind some bushes, but it isn't anywhere around OP's house

So as far as we know, UPS delivered to the wrong address and OP never got his item. Not really his fault, nor NewEgg's fault. Personally I think he should have called NewEgg sooner, but they do tend to ship really fast and there's no guarantee that it would have changed anything. The biggest issue, I think, is that UPS apparently delivered the package to the wrong address. That means the OP doesn't get it and neither does NewEgg. Therefore, UPS should have to pay.

Unless, of course, he manages to find the package at some point. At which point he can try to return it to NewEgg.

Yeah check with your neighbors first.

I had our moron UPS guy deliver about 3 expensive packages, all that came in on separate days, to my neighbor's house....thing is, this neighbor's house was 2 streets away. Same house number, but totally different street name. I'm lucky my neighbor was nice and brought them over to my house.

I ended up going to the local UPS location (not a UPS Store but the actual UPS warehouse location) and told them there about it. They verified our address and then put a note on it to always require a signature. They will no longer leave a package at my door if I don't sign for it, no matter what the seller does.

I also notice now that my UPS guy is different. Hopefully the other moron got fired.

great.
now please explain to me why the OP would be mad at newegg for UPS not delivering the package and i'll understand the whole ordeal.

You should have left a note on the door to the UPS driver telling him that you refused the package.

As others said, before throwing a little fit, did you talk to the neighbors across the street, where UPS stopped?
