Okay, so yesterday i replaced the starter in my car....
Today, i changed the oil, got a new air-filter, fixed a leak of power-steering fluid(i hope)......
i was wondering what else i can do myself that shouldn't take too long, just general maintenance things...?
How much $$ do you think i saved doing those few things myself?

my car is an '82 honda accord hatchback

Plugs/wires
brake fluid and antifreeze/coolant levels
transmission/transaxle fluid
differential fluid
windshield washer fluid
battery water
wiper blades and lights
Check condition of belts
Lubricate chassis
Put some air in the tires

Finally, wash and wax.

Probably saved 2/3.

You might want to change the oil filter too.

I'd personally check for rust and the door seals in such an old car. When it rains, thats not the time to find out your car windows have a leak.

with an 82', you need to consider replacing the hoses (coolant & vacume). Flush the heck out of your cooling system & use the new long lasting anti freeze too...

yeah, changed the oil filter along with my oil change.....:D

okay, flush radiator, add new coolant, sounds good,

plugs/wires(spark at least) are new(a few months), battery is new, as well as the alternator and the carburator(a few months anyways)
lights are fine.....as well as air, belts seem to be fine, brake fluid and washer fluid are within bounds, and i will be washing the car tonight in a few hours! anything else you can think of?

fuel filter
air filter
grease/repack or replace wheel bearings *you have to take the brake assembly apart for this, its not difficult and it will allow you to check/change the pads as needed
grease u-joints
grease and lube everything that takes grease and lube
clean battery terminals, check water level in battery

:D
