Just got around to building my system after being out of town for 2 weeks. I started slow because my dad has the same motherboard/case/cooling as me but he has a 2.6c ghz processor.. I had trouble tweaking his system and seemed to peak at 245mhz fsb at 5:4 ratio. I thought it might have been limited by the passive northbridge cooler on his motherboard(asus p4c800-e deluxe) .. But I've had good experience with asus and bought another just like his to go with my 2.4ghz m0 processor.

So I load this puppy up with 2x512mb corsair xms pc3200 and push it to 250mhz fsb at 5:4 ratio no problems at all.. I decide to change the ratio to 3:2 and see what I can get.. I'm currently at 300mhz fsb stable in all tests 30°C or less idle processor temp with no problems at all. All benchmarks finish with extremely good results. Im very satisfied with this system and recommend an asus motherboard to compliment your new p4 =>

Congrats

Did you get a rev 1.02 or 2.0 board?

Right now im at 3.63 (1.60-1.63 vcore according to cpu-z) I can go higher but performance gain is minimal (if any) in fact above 195+ there is not much juice left taking in account the higher vcore that it takes +vdimmod for better ram settings well not worth it IMO. 195 with 1.50-60 vcore is fine for me.

2.4c@3.63 (302fsb) 2-2-2-5 Mushkin Pc3500 Level2
P4C800-E DLX rev.2.0

Just to make sure you are reading from the right place..there is a white sticker on the pcb between 2 pci slots if its a rev2.0 board.

From what I've read, these motherboards had issues with motherboard flex, causing no boot ups. Now the rev 2.0s just have a HS bracket brace on the back of the motherboard.
