just looking for some recommendations...

I've got an Antec P180 that I bought when they were released, and while yes -- it's pretty much the best case I've ever owned, lately I've been feeling the urge for something smaller.

with my P180, it's got to sit on the floor and it's just a total pain in the ass having to go under my desk any time I want to fiddle with the wires, install hardware, etc.

I'm basically looking for the smallest case I can find that's got enough room for 2-3 internal hard drives + dvd drive and enough cooling for the geforce 9800 that I'm planning on buying after christmas. standard ATX would be preferable to keep my existing motherboard, but I'm not totally averse to picking up a micro-atx or barebones box.

The Antec SOLO can handle most of what you mentioned but it may not have the card space for the 9800 (I have no idea what the length of those are). The Rosewill R5600 series is about the least expensive cases I'll recommend and they have 11" of measured card space. See my review here: http://www.techimo.com/reviews/ - way down at the bottom of the Cases section under Yeong Yang/Rosewill ... You might be able to use a Chenbro SR105xx workstation/entry level server box which is deep but not very tall. If so, I have one here that was OEM for Alienware when they tried to break into the workstation market (~17.5H, including the feet,x23L) - there is almost no card that won't fit. Here is a pic link:

I don't think it is in my FS/T listing linked below. Here is a link to a stock version:

which also has a link to Chenbro's product page (under the Mfr's Info tab) PM me for complete info if interested - it shouldn't cost too much to ship from here in central NY if our generally ignorant Congress doesn't screw things up too badly trying to fix the mess they largely created in the first place.
