Yet another laptop suggestion thread: Internet, gaming with battery requirements

I’m looking to buy a laptop in the 13” to 15” range. This is mostly to internet and office but I will also be doing some light gaming. And by light gaming I mean I don’t expect to be running games for very long while mobile (not that that’s an option) and I don’t mind turning options down, nothing much more demanding than a single session of StarCraft while mobile and maybe StarCraft II while plugged in. I’m wanting 2+ USB 2.0 ports for various accessories (mouse, game controller and backup drive) and am leaning towards a DVD drive as well for things like rented movies. I need good battery life - something in the six to eight hour range (internet/general use, not gaming) because I’ll be mobile a lot during the day.

Something I’d really like but don’t need is a multi-touch touchpad, fingerprint logon and back lit keys. Those would all be very nice, especially the first, but not required. Plz halp, AT.

Budget is 1k but I’d like to keep it under that if at all possible. I have no brand loyalty but have been coyly eying the ASUS U33Jc (though I’m not entirely sure I like the bamboo...) and its predecessor the UL30Vt.

As usual, thanks in advance.
