Palin is being used to take ALL the heat over the next year or so. That way, the real prospects come into the fight clean.

Look at the press. She is about the ONLY republican getting any negtive press. They are having a field day on her. And meanwhile, the rest of the republican party is enjoying near total peace and quiet.

I'd be willing to bet she doesn't get the nomination.

Its going to backfire on the GOP. Here's what will happen.

Her ego will grow so large that she will actually think she can win and run for the nomination. The rest of the field will be afraid to attack her. Early GOP primaries are in bible belt territory. SHe could get some early wins and then look out. The GOP won't be able to control the monster they created.

Almost as good as when Obama said the TSA did its job when the dude lite his wiener on fire.
Or when he told us all there were thousands of shovel ready jobs.
Or when the Democrats told us that we would find out what was in the health care bill only after it was passed.

At least she just slips up and doesn't flat out lie.

Was weiner dude able to blow up a plane? No, because TSA made it hard for him to bring an effective weapon on board.
Were thousands of jobs saved or created by stimulus? Yes
Are you free to find out what's in health care law? Yes

Not slip ups and not lies.

Palin is apparently unaware that not every entity on the planet is under the jurisdiction of the US court system.

Yet Liberals want to use the US court system for foreigner militants who commit an act of terrorism in a foreign country?

IDK how we should respond to these leaks, but the Admin's so-far mostly nonresponse isn't the answer. We look like impotent fools and are embarrasing our allies. If wikileaks can so easily get this info, I don't see why foreign intelligence agencies can't.

Ok, so lets put it into that context. Why are we even detaining them at all? Why aren't they in that foreign governments jurisdiction then? Why would they even be in a military trial then?

IDK, I've wondered about that myself.

One reason may be that we are bound by treaties (the UN convention against torture IIRC) whereby we cannot turn over suspects to certain countries (many in the M.E. etc,) because they may torture them.

Why would they even be in a military trial then?

If you attack our soldiers on the battlefield, it's a military matter.

You blow up one of our embassies, it's an attack against the USA, and, IMO, legitimately a military matter.
