where do you hook up the magnifing lens? What's the trick behind it? Taking the current TV picture and just enlarge it with a lens to a wall?

A buddy of mine tried it. It actually did work, but the picture was very washed out and blurry.
 
i had $2 in my paypal and won one of those auctions a few years back. the dude sent me a ms word doc with some instructions about going to a hardware store and getting some parts and building a box. i was too lazy to do any of it... $2 wasted.
 
It involves a reflector to flip the image horizontally (so that when the image hits the wall it'll be the right way around, and probably a fresnel lens, too, to concentrate the light.
 
People have tried it before, successfully, but it's not cheap. There was one for sale in the FS/FT forum for a while, and there's a couple of forums out there dedicated to them too I think.
