Yet another fitness thread - scheduling my exercise?

Ok, so if I really cared I'd post this on a fitness forum, but you guys will do just fine.

I'm trying to lose the weight that I put on over the last semester (10 pounds or so... yay beer) and I think that it's more than reasonable that I can do it before August... after all, two years ago during my senior year of high school I dropped from 215lbs to 155lbs in 4-5 months just by dieting. However I was actually underweight, and I wasn't fit... I was just an out of shape guy who didn't LOOK out of shape anymore.

Anyhow, I'm trying diet AND exercise this time. I've always been an occasional exerciser, but I'm really trying to do something active 4-5 times a week, which leads to my question: I'm a big fan of staying up late and sleeping in late. I've been going on 20-30 min runs before I go to bed (1am or so, I have a safe neighborhood), because it's a bit warm to do it at noon when I wake up. I've read that cardio burns more fat if you do it when you first wake up, but does anyone know how much better it is? I'm sure that running at night is better than not running at all, but I'm just curious as to whether I'd notice a difference in the amount of time it takes to get looking slim again.

Doing it in the morning, that'll kick up your metabolism for the rest of the day. If you do it at night, your metabolism will settle down once you go to sleep.

Best to do it in the morning.

I think it would be much better if you fix your sleeping habit

It would be much better if you can run in the morning or early evening.

I should try that. I think my metabolism is really slow, I can fall asleep during any part of the day. I work out at night, about 3 times a week.
