Nothing new, just posting this because some of our usual Democrat suspects deny it ever happens. Now they can change their tune to "it doesn't really matter, cuz it doesn't happen often enough........"

It's a good thing that another Democrat was caught and will hopefully go to prison over this issue.

Richardson told the judge she was bothered that Amy Searcy, the Board of Elections director, had criticized her moments before the sentencing. Richardson, 58, of Madisonville, said for years she helped register Democrats to vote but now was being persecuted despite her decades as a poll worker.

“I think the board has shown me nothing but total disrespect for the 30 years I’ve served them,” she told the judge. “I believe in the system and I’ve done nothing to harm the system or cause disgrace to President Obama.”

The conservative, outspoken judge responded with scathing comments, blasting Richardson for suggesting she was being prosecuted because she was a black Democrat helping a black Democratic presidential candidate.

“It has nothing to do with race. It has nothing to do with politics. It has nothing to do with disrespecting you. You did this to yourself,” Ruehlman told her.

“You’re very selfish, self-centered. .................

Yet another? How many does that make now, like 50, 60 million? I mean, it must be literally every single Democrat in America right? Or is it every single Democrat... in the WORLD? Hell, I saw something that said Barack Obama got more votes than there are people on Earth. Why is no one investigating this? Sure, I didn't actually see that said before I just typed it, but now that it's out there, I think it bears looking into.

Seriously, no one, and I mean literally no one, Democrat, Republican or otherwise, is defending the actions of this deluded lunatic. Similarly, no one is saying that voter fraud literally never happens. What HAS been said is that it happens infrequently enough that the proposals that call for mandatory ID don't make sense as a way to combat it. You acting like an intellectually dishonest partisan hack jackass makes your cause look weaker, not stronger, and you're dialing the trolling up to 11 from the get-go with this thread. You aren't looking for discussion, you're looking for a circle jerk, an opportunity to lament how those awful Democrats are everything you ever said they were because you found a single incident of one idiot who voted for her comatose sister. Congratulations, you win, you've convinced all the Democrats to start casting their fraudulent ballots for Republicans in future elections.

Troll on, son, troll on.

More like there are bad apples in every barrel.

To put it more clearly
The Dems shit stinks just as bad as the Repubs even if they refuse to admit it.

I would say good except we all know this never happens.
If it weren't for straw men, you boys would have nothing to post. The objection was never that "this never happens". It's that the occurrence is so low as to be immaterial, while the harm done by the Republicans' voter suppression laws -- purportedly to stop this sort of fraud -- is substantial. Further, note that once again you voter suppression cheerleaders are flogging an example that would NOT have been prevented by photo voter IDs. Even for insiders like this poll worker it was far more efficient and less risky to commit fraud via absentee ballot, not the in-person fraud "prevented" by photo IDs.

That said, I'm glad she was discovered and convicted. As a poll worker, she had a special responsibility to protect the integrity of our elections. Hopefully this will serve as a warning to others that honest elections are far more important than stealing one for your team. Pity we can't apply the same legal processes to the many corrupt legislators who are eager to suppress votes and gerrymander districts to cheat their party to victory.

(By the way, while doing a Google search on Richardson, I saw that even the Daily Kos called her an "idiot". I thought you should know that before you duhvert off into a new straw man about how Democrats support what she did.)

Is this another case of voter ID laws that have been proposed would not have prevented this?

I haven't read the article yet because the OP has a habit of misrepresenting the facts and the issues. Plus his faux outrage has been 2 for 2 (Benghazi and the IRS "scandals").

Good, cart that bitch off to jail. I just wish all of those caught abusing the system and the public trust like that got real punishment.

*cough* Charlie White *cough*

There ought to be magnified punishment for people tasked with insuring election integrity actually being the ones who corrupt them, and I'd like to see it applied to both peons and the higher up officials within the system.

Thanks for making the exact point I made in the OP.

Now they can change their tune to "it doesn't really matter, cuz it doesn't happen often enough........"

See, that's why your OP was yet another dishonest straw man. There was no change in argument. That has always been the argument, not your BS that it doesn't "ever happen".

The only thing new is you're making shit up. Noone ever said voter fraud never happens. Argument it happens so little (statistically 0) the cure is far worse then the disease.

With all due respect, there's nothing new about that. That's as unremarkable as noting the sun rose in the east this morning.

She's lucky they were willing to make a plea deal with her.

It's sick that she tried to twist it into a race issue.

Lol! I read the article and looked up other related articles and....

I NAILED IT!

Absentee ballot voter fraud! Not fixed or addressed by a single voter ID law.

Thanks for the laugh mono!

What's awesome is that this lady was engaging in absentee ballot fraud, something that voted ID laws do nothing to prevent but that Republicans refuse to attempt to address.

Hey look, a case of non in-person voter fraud! This shows that we need to stop in-person voter fraud!

That's because voter fraud is vastly more likely to be by absentee ballot and absentee fraud (like all voter fraud) is vastly more often committed by Republicans. Of course they don't want to address ACTUAL voter fraud, they want to drum up an excuse to disenfranchise legal voters who are more likely to vote Democrat. No one believes anything different than this because it's the obvious truth. Some may claim they believe different, and some people also claim that the Saints shouldn't have been punished for the bounty scandal. They're called home team fans that will support any horrible thing their team does so long as it helps them win.

I mean the intent of voter ID laws is entirely transparent and obvious as has been pointed out in numerous other threads. They are intended to suppress unfriendly voting blocs.

The fact that stupid and/or ignorant people keep falling for it is sad, but not entirely surprising.
