Greetings everyone. My friend has asked me to build a system for him, so I did some research and came up with the following layout. It's been awhile since I put a system together, so I may have missed a few things along the way. He gave me a budget of $1500 (including monitor and accessories). The system will be used primarily for gaming. He does NOT intend to overclock it at all, that sort of thing isn't really within his skill-set and he doesn't want to have to be bothered with it.
MOBO - GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor
GPU - Connect3D 3059 Radeon X1900XT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 VIVO Video Card
RAM - CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Desktop Memory x 2
PSU - Rosewill RP550-2 ATX 2.01 550W Power Supply
HD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS (Perpendicular Recording Technology) 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
DVD Drive - LITE-ON 18X DVD±R DVD Burner With 12X DVD-RAM Write Black IDE
Monitor - BenQ FP91G+ Black 19" 8ms DVI LCD Monitor
Speakers - Logitech X-230 32 watts RMS 2.1 Black
He has yet to pick out a case or a mouse/keyboard, but those should be largely irrelevant (I'll ensure he picks a decent case that is compatible with the rest of the system). He doesn't care too much about sound, so I figured the onboard sound would be good enough. As mentioned, he does not intend to OC at all, so the value RAM with the lower speed should be fine for his setup. I didn't see any Power Supplies that jumped out as being superior for his power needs, so I just went with a good name-brand that fit the requirements. Same with the monitor, I've heard good things about the BenQ, and the price was right. Please let me know if anything jumps out as being a bad choice, or if everything looks pretty good give the budgetary constraints. Thanks in advance.
