Disclaimer: this is only a passing thought but it was entertaining for me nonetheless:

I've seen it said many times on MSNBC and CNN, etc that when the public is concerned about the economy they vote democratic.

McCain had risen in the polls and even slightly edged out Obama and then suddenly the economy has gone to hell. The media coverage was extremely sudden, IMO.

All I hear is how terrible the economy is 24/7 sprinkled with "bad economy= good for dems"
Sounds fishy... crazy too

What say you?

Why is it that most of the media is Dem. biased? Also, curious... why is it that most students on college campuses are Dem's? Same with most professors?

I wonder if the more educated people are Dem's? This is coming from a senior at USF that is a Rep. (although, I've got a lot of mixed feelings now).

Interesting indeed.

Yeah. The media should never have covered Lehmans bankruptcy nor the huge bailout and especially not shown Bush telling us how bad its going to get.
And showing the stock market numbers was plain un-patriotic.
After all, no one was worried about the economy and no one was watching the news to hear about it.

The last 8yrs of republican rule had something to do with that I suspect.

That Oswald was a patsy, the Moon landing wasn't faked, and planes were only part of the reason the towers fell on 9/11. :)

It isnt fishy. Democrats have always been viewed more favorably on domestic economic policy. Whether it is deserved or not.

yeah, I guess all the economic crisis in the US and around the world, including Russian and Brazilian stock market's 20% drop yesterday was all made up by the media to make McCain look bad.

"Really, why in the hell would Murdock (Fox) throw away billions?"

I have no idea what that means.

Anyone that thinks this situation is a fabrication of the media (for any reason) is nuts.

i think it is more like $850B+ and it is his final "fuck you" you to the u.s., and as a by-product, the world. i guess he wanted to get into the history books somehow and knew being the best was too far out of reach, so he had to solidify the worst. wait, he still has a bit more time, maybe he will invade iran in a week......

Exactly. I turned in my (R) card this year. McCain's camp sent me a letter requesting a donation in a pre-paid return envelope. I sent his letter back telling them their candidate is a sell out and disgrace of his former self.

Yeah, I've toyed with a similar thought. But mine revolves around international bankers etc, not the MSM.

For those calling the OP a nut, the theory is not too dis-similar from the widely-held (by Dems anyway) ubiquitous theory about Repubs and rigging the price of oil.

So, Big bankers vs Oil Co's and who's candidate will win this election?

Schumer kicked off the IndyMac failure with an email calling the bank "insolvent". Reid last week tanked the stocks of insurance companies by publicly saying a major "unnamed" insurance co was going to go under - these people love to see failure (like military failure they root for) and I have seen Dems promoting these failures (as well as the subprime collapse they stoked giving out houses with ACORN and Fannie/Freddie). Obama winning (and he had FannieMae CEO Bob Johnson running his VP selection ) is like letting the inmates run the asylum since they had major role in this mess. Dems = enemy within

False dilemma. Neither conspiracy theory holds any water. And even if it did, my money would be on the bankers. ;)

Interesting indeed.

Most reporters who form their opinions based on what they've learned are Dem. Most media *owners* who set the agenda for the media and are based on profit are Rep.

I think those questions answer themselves? LOL.

Gee, why do the people with easily-shaped young minds lean left, when they listen to left-wing lectures all day? Its a system that feeds itself.

Because they tend to get informed and not be as influenced by propaganda.

Fixed. ;)

And to address what you just to said on point and seriously, young people do not need to be taught to be liberal. Pushing against the status quo is just what young people do.
