wtf.. this is the 2nd car accident... today!! this street corner is cursed... (well, its really stupid)
history:
many years ago, 4 corners of the street lights had protected greens (meaning that there was a left turn green arrow, separate from the rest of the stoplight, forcing people to stop in the left turn lane)
now they changed it to open green, meaning left turns can be made anytime it is green
still to this day, people don't understand that...
also, this intersection is based on the edges of 4 corners, each edge sealed up by a wall. this means that there's no way to tell who's coming down the street until you get there (cant look ahead at all)
this leads to lots of careless speeding, and in addition to people used to protected left turns...
= accident every week or less. each of the four corners on the intersection have been hit by cars
many times. many have also lead to deaths from the local highschool...
stupid corner = accidents all the time. it has become more of a social gathering everytime.
in this case, this chevy silverado claimed to have been hit by a black honda accord (so i overheard from the police)
