yet another camera thread: great digital camera $300-500

i got a canon s200 and it doesn't cut it anymore, time for a new camera fellas and since dell has screwed me over once again, i dont know what to get.........

i really wanted a g2 or g3 but what is comparable....?

With the new G5 coming out, and the prices shifting, the G3 is one of the best buys in the Cannon lineup right now.

I ended up getting a Minolta Dimage S414, I love it. 🙂

It's pretty much G3 level, albeit at a much lower price point.

There is a digital camera thread (basically the same thread every time) every couple days.

sigh paid $400 for my S30 a yr + ago.. now it's not even worth 100 less... *sniffs and nags*

Next camera - digital SLR - i just can't stand the delays when taking photos - I hate waiting for the lens to focus + the time taken between shots...

It uses standard AA's, you could use 2200 mah NIMH's if you wanted. I currently use 1950 mah.
