Yet another BETA Asus A8N SLI-DELUXE Bios

So far ive seen that the 4G remap thing under memsettings is default turned on. apart from that i havent noticed anything

Oh... they should have spent more time in the design area and make a board that do not need to be patched with BIOS fix every 2 weeks..

Doesnt sound good to me. I would rather get something else than this Asus..

What are you talking about grooge? This board does seem to have a lot of BIOS fixes out but it's absolutely stable at stock speeds using the 1002 BIOS that was out for it originally. However, that had some problems with overclocking. But it was stable at stock. 1003, and especially 1004 fixed a lot of overclocking issues. I'm using it now and it's stable 24 hours of prime95 and 24 hours of 3dmark'05. Dunno what 1005 and 1006 BIOS's fixed but 1007 was for Athlon64 "Venice" core support. Not sure what the new 1008 BIOS does but this board has been very stable since the 1004 BIOS was out months ago. The only major outstanding issue is probably the 250mhz memory at 1T issue.

If 1007 was for venice support, what would happen if I bought a board to go with a venice chip and it came with the older bios? Would it boot ok and would there be an opportunity to reflash?

What is this 250Mhz 1T issue? I am running GEIL DDR500 at 250Mhz 1T with no problems, but I've heard this referred to here before and haven't been able to find out what the issue is.

1004 and 1007 final are both very good.

Maybe for you. My system would not run for even 1 hour after trying 1007 without locking up. But then again, I don't have a Venice core. I have a Winchester. So maybe that's the reason. I reverted back to 1006 and system went back to being stable again.

Try upping that to 275 or so, while keeping your CPU/MEM ratio at 1:1 (using the DDR400 setting in DRAM settings) and 1T command rate. Since the board's release, nobody has been able to achieve high overclocks with 1T CMD rate while running 1:1 ratio.

I have a Winchester and have had no problems to speak of with ANY BIOS revision that Asus has released. I also agree with Insomniak, OCing seems to be best with 1004.

AFter I installed it, it made all my games BSOD after 10 seconds of use. I'm in safe mode now typing this. Any suggestions?

1007 BETA and final supports the new CPUS, My system has been stable, the 1007 Beta was the first time I used a beta bios for a board it was totally stable and now I am using the final. 240x10 overclock a 1.39 volts. I would flash back to the 1007 bios.
