Yet another 2 x 2gb question

So, I need to get some new ram to replace my old 2 x 1gb kit (crapped out on me). I have a few prospects in mind, but I would rather leave the final decision someone alot smarter than me!

Anyways, here's the list:

Mushkin Redline DDR2 1000 for $137
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820146755

G. Skill DDR2 1000 for $110
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820231145

G. Skill DDR2 800 for $95
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820231148

Mushkin HP DDR2 800 for $123 (or open box for $95)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820146691

Or any others of similar specs and performance.

Is there much of a difference between DDR2 800 and 1000? Does the Redline's performance justify its highest price?

Oh yeah, I do alot of video converting and encoding, and I"m just now starting to use the pc for games.

Tough to beat that Corsair for $74.

With a Q6600 DDR2-1000 isn't going to do anything for you. I'd get that Corsair, or a similar DDR2-800 kit.

...I could but only if he had a q9450... with the locked multipliers and all, or perhaps if he wanted to try to get 3-3-3-10 timings @ DDR2-800 with those sticks.
