Old config: A7N8X deluxe, XP 2500@3200, 74 GB raptor SATA, 120 GB SATA, 200 GB PATA, winXP SP2
New conifg: Soltek K8T-800 S939, A64 3000+, same hard drives, XP SP2

I have 200 GB worth of data on my 200 GB drive. I just put in the new mobo and cpu, moved over all of my other hardware, and reinstalled windows from scratch. Updated to SP1A, then to SP2 (didn't make my slipstream disk bootable... dumb). Now my 120 GB drive reads fine, but my 200 GB drive doesn't show up in my computer, and it says it's unpartitioned in the device manager. I haven't actually done anything to that drive other than hook it up.

SP2 is installed so I should be able to see it right? I don't want to format it as I've got a lot of stuff on that drive. Any help?

Just in case anyone was wondering, I found a program called Getdataback for NTFS that I'm using. The only thing is I have to save all of my data somewhere else, and then reformat the drive and move it back. My other drives are pressed for space as it is, so this means lots o' dvdrs...

PS: A64 3000+ running at 3200+ speeds right now at 19 C. 19 freaking degrees celcius. Didn't want to push it right off the bat.

yeah, Support for HDs larger than 137gb was added in with the release of Windows XP Service Pack 1.

Just a stupid idea...... make sure your HD jumpers are correct. In the past i have ran into HD issues when the jumpers were set incorrect.

I would try re-installing XP with the 200GB dive out of the system.
Then apply your SP, shut down & reconnect the HD and you should be good to go.
It beats the hell out of burning alot of disks.

Meh, I backed up what I could and gave up on the rest. Didn't have the patience to sit through so many more DVD burns. Didn't lose anything important.

*sigh* no working agp/pci lock on this board... my 3000+ must remain a 3000+ until I can get this thing exchanged.
