obviosly this had a nicer price tag and bigger disk and screen, but I don't like to mass with rebates...

I wonder about the tech specs of the notebook. If it uses a chipset that can take 533MHz bus speeds, perhaps can overclock the setup to 2.93GHz!!!

You would be a fool to buy these. Dell is clearing them out because the Inspiron 1200/2200 that replaces it is much better.

The 1200/2200 have Celeron M, which is equivalent to Banias Pentium M. In other words, think of an equivalent clock speed Dothan Pentium M, except about 5% slower.

Also, the Celeron M processors don't have SpeedStep, so they won't have the absolute best battery life. But the battery life still kicks butt over the 2.2GHz Mobile Celerons.

This laptop will get about 90 minutes of battery life. The 1200/2200 with a Celeron M will get about double that; 180 minutes. Plus it runs cooler and performs better.
