Yes, 9/28 finally came yesterday which means today's thread is another RUSH CONCERT THREAD!. A friend and I made our way about 50 miles south to Irvine Meadows (Verizon Amphitheater) for show. What are the chances that it would be raining lightly right b4 the show? Geddy said he wasn't responsible for the rain but that they usually bring snow. I can't recall the entire setlist but it looks to be the same on that they've been doing the whole tour. You can refer to Mucman's concert review for the setlist. Though I was disappointed they didn't do Closer to the Heart or Red Barchetta, the show was just incredible. We "upgraded" our seats about 20 rows closer. Nobody came to boot us out the whole night. That was way cool. Neil's solo was awesome as expected. Dunno if anyone else mentioned that he was surrounded by drums and his stage rotated so he'd always be facing the crowd. He was spinning as he doing his solo. Alex told a joke during one of the songs, can't recall which one. Went something like he was kinda sick, chest pains, etc. He woke up to the sound of snoring at like 3am, went back to sleep a few minutes later. Woke up again to snoring a few minutes later and a press in the back. Couldn't go back to sleep for 20 minutes. Finally when he goes back to sleep, he is awoken by a question: Do you think I'm fat? LOL, the crowd loved it. And the acoustic song after the drum solo. Wow. The green lasers they brought back were cool. My buddy said the show had the feel of an 80's rock show. It was freakin loud out there. They turned it up louder after intermission to
I had a great time, rain or not. I had always liked Rush but now I can appreciate their incredible talent. Just blew me away. Now I'm asking myself why I didn't goto the show last Monday!
<-- Awaiting the arrival of resident Rush diehard.
