He's better than Gruden. "This guy...!" "I love him!". He's never critical of anyone, everyone is the best player ever.

Tirico is actually pretty good at what he does...he just had to work with Gruden...which had to be excruciating.

Damn, I was hoping this thread was going to say Gruden was leaving. I hate that guy.

Nice, but I like Tirico. He's not obnoxious or overbearing, which is all I need from a commentator. Gruden is a little grating. Nothing against his explanations, though.

from his attempt at running a radio show, he's got arrogant douche down pretty well.

I don't listen to talk radio. Almost all of the "good" ones turn into personality cults where the host turns into a parody of him or herself. Even for sports radio, which is why I guess ESPN has (had) crossover political talk people like Olbermann. I don't care for knowing what the voice over a football broadcast thinks about anything else outside of that game...it's like crossing the streams or something. :D

I actually like Torico and his broadcast style. Gruden, who is one of the most knowledgeable people in football, gets to be a bit too much...usually by the middle of the first quarter. As someone already mentioned, he never has anything bad to say about anyone...and "This guy" is the best player in his position in the entire NFL.

Come on, Jon...stop sucking the dicks of all the players you MIGHT end up coaching someday...if a team gives you another chance. (Yes, I rooted for Tampa Bay to beat Oaktown in the Super Bowl...up yours, Al Davis!)

Bummer, I really liked Tirico.

That being said, things mus be getting pretty weird over at ESPN -- lots of talent leaving, being asked to leave or being given new assignments. They must be seriously hurting over there. And while Sports Center sort of sucked it was INFINITELY better than this bullshit they have on in the morning now which is pretty much like The View for sports.

lol i watch sports center sometimes on the weekends and the show really has changed a lot. i used to watch it religiously before school back in the late 90's but it's like a completely different show now.

No Sarcasm intended. Pure man crush.

Gruden, yes. Madden, no.

Though I guess Madden was better in his earlier years -- he just stayed on too long and ended up being a caricature and that is what everyone (including myself) think of right away.

tirico and gruden are one of the best duos imo. sad to see him go.

Agreed, I actually like Gruden, don't know what the rest of you guys are smoking. That dude spends every waking hour watching tape in his man cave because he's a complete football geek.

He's so excited on the air and loves everybody because he honestly loves every second of his job. Plus, he's extremely knowledgeable and whenever I do watch him (I actually don't watch MNF much anymore due to not having ESPN), I always learn piles of things that I never wanted to learn. :D

Good, Ray Lewis out. Tired of hearing him talk about how Jesus forgives him for murdering.

That guy can't leave soon enough.

His color commentary is almost as bad as John Madden's, who once famously said that "“The best way to gain more yards is advance the ball down the field from the line of scrimmage.”
