People were mean to me because I was a chunky, cross eyed kid. No one wanted to be my friend in grade school. I was laughed at and made fun of because of the way I looked.
I did have a couple of friends... they would include me even though it made them look more uncool than people already thought they were.
In high school, I blossomed a bit and suddenly found I was 'popular'. This did nothing but piss me off. I rejected the popular cliques and hung out with the geeks and freaks, who were always my real friends.
Inner beauty really
IS the most important thing. An ugly attitude will eventually be etched on the face. I can't think of a good example right now, but consider Mother Teresa and then compare her to Cruella Deville.
I was watching TLC (I think it was 'The Face' with John Cleese) and they showed a few pictures of people who may not have been the most beautiful in youth, but they aged well because you could see the love in their faces.
Love makes you beautiful, no matter what your face looks like!
