Yes I changed my thread title

2 door vs 4 door
2 seater vs 4 seater
coupe vs sedan
$100K vs $350K

We're comparing apples to oranges.
That said, your right. The Carrera is the cats ass of coolness.

Apples and Oranges. One's a sports sedan and other is a super car.

Yep, and I'd still probably rather have the M5... lets be serious.. think actually owning each of these cars, whcih could you actually drive? keeping in mind, both are incredibly powerful and fast. The M5 is the winner....

I agree 100% on the analysis you gave, my point is that the M5 pales in comparison to this machine. The BMW fanboy in the other thread stated that all other cars look weak compared to the M5, that's just not true. If he said all other luxury sedans look weak next to it, maybe then I would agree.

For the money an M5 costs, get yourself a lotus elise, rebuild the motor from the ground up with twin turbos sitting on top, and use the left over money to buy everyone dinner 🙂

True, but I think its obvious when he said the M5 is the best he meant in the "consumer" class.
For most of us it isnt unreasonable to assume, at some point, we would be able to own an M5.
A Carrera? I'd say maybe 5 members tops on this board could ever seriously consider purchasing this car.

That said, Ford GT > all 😀

Carrera hands down. I'm a sucker for 2 seats, as many doors and as many ponies as you can give me. 😎

I don't usually read Road and Track, but look at their standing mile comparison test. There's some beasts in there including some 1000+hp tuner cars. Notice how the motorcycle destroys everything up to its 175mph top speed before aerodynamics give cars the edge. The bike is a $43,000 MV Agusta, but any $10,000 Japanese sportbike is just as fast.

At this point were comparing apples to spinach.

If someone works hard enough, maybe we can compare apples to plywood.......

Does anyone know if Top Gear will ever get its hands on a Chrysler ME 4-12? I so badly want to see that car in action!
