Yes, it's loud as hell. Loud as a bitch in fact. However, the GateWatch drops it from 3500RPM to a whispering 1700 RPM. Success! I was worried at first, but after it stared to get silent, I breathed a sigh of relief. With the GateWatch I get to have my cake and eat it too. I will post pics and thermal results once I get the rig built sometime in the next two weeks.
 
Man, this thing is loud. You guys weren't kidding. I don't think I will ever run this thing full speed. Even at half the speed, it still pushes out some crisp air. The funny thing is that I always had to hold it or it would have the tendency to move right off the desk. I could even make it hover on the desk.

Weren't you originally going for the 200+CFM model until we mentioned wattage requirements? That's damn near enough to make your ears bleed....
