my stock fan on albatron ti4200 128mb plain-jane card was starting to make noises again. it may have been because of my system overworking a 200watt PS that finally called it quits, but i digress.
i took out the fan, i had an extra cpu heatsink that i attached using AS3. of course it wouldn't stay on since it would have been upside down with my tower right side up. so i cut up a wooden chopstick so that it would brace it perfectly against the heatsink and my internal modem 3 pci slots down. turned it on worked fine, except that the heatsink would get pretty hot within minutes stock speeds.
hmm, so then i used the cpu fan and placed it so that it would blow at the side of heatsink and would blow out the hot air at the back of my case. i taped it on the heatsink and the fan is sitting on my internal modem itself. i already took out the metal pci slots so there was sufficient air flow. now i could run my card 305/290 stable, as opposed to 290/290 running stock heatsink/fan. if only i had a digital camera to show yah. maybe ill get a webcam i believe it can take pictures. but if you could picture it, its a beautiful thing. heheh
