Hey all,

I am looking for a good deal that is under 100 bux (or under 100 after MIR). I also need something quality that won't kill my system. I don't quite trust my own knowledge enough so I will trust a bunch of strangers instead 😛

Here is my system:

Abit KN8 ultra (939)
x2 4200 @ 2.62
2900 pro (no oc)
Corsair XMS 2x1 gig
NEC DVD burner
Seagate Barracuda 250 gig
floppy
Fans: 1x 80mm, 1 x92mm, 1x 120mm

Right now I have the older Ultra X-finity 600 watt running this- the one with dual 80mm fans. So, I am not exactly comfortable with this psu. It was ok before I upgraded this system from single to dual core and also video card, but now that I have upgraded some.. don't want to wear out my components.

thanks

From what I could gather using google and jonnyguru's forum search, the Ultra X-finity 600w is a good PSU, and will have absolutely NO trouble powering your rig. It has 37a on the 12v rail, which is MORE then plenty. Under the harshest conditions your rig might draw 300w, that's it. So 600w will be just fine. There's a hell of a deal on a 750w coolermaster real power right now, but I'm not going to even link to it, coz it would be a waste of money for you.

From what I understand and from what Jonny has said on this forum regarding the older version of the ultra x-finity (the one with dual 80mm fans), the 12v is not the most stable rail on it which will wear down my components. I could be mistaken but I am rpetty sure that is what he said.
