Well it really depends on how you like your hand placement on the mouse. Personally I like a mouse that has grooves where your fingers would comfortably fit. Like this mouse...

Go into the local Staples store .. most of them carry about 20 or so variations
of mice .. They are all displayed out of the package, so you can see what feels
best to you. Then it's up to you to decide which one has the features you want
and how much you want to pay for it .. or if you already know which mouse you
want, shop online. You will usually get it for less than at Staples or Best Buy.

If you want a nice small, simple wireless laser mouse try the Logitech LX7
It runs on 2 AA cells and uses a small usb receiver.. Works pretty good

I love my Razer Diamondback. It just fits my hand well and glides great. I think I got it for $25 on Woot.

if you want cheap, there are TONS of mice that are optical and have a scrollwheel at the top. today actually, im going to get the microsoft intellimouse explorer 3.0...its hands down the best mouse ever made for only $30 today ($40 everywhere else).
