Hi guys, I know this its a miricle of you even click on my thread...AHH, not another ATA100 problem. But, I urge you to hear me out. My problem sucks.

I have a IBM Deskstar GXP (45gb) and I have it as master on my ata100, then my Pioneer DVD as secondary master, and my HP as secondary slave on my ata 66.

However, very often, when I start my computer, it will load the bios for my ata100, find my hard drive, everything like normal, but then it will JUST NOT load windows.

I have drivers install good. ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS A TON!!!!!!!!! :)

This works peachy for me:

Leave the IBM on the ata100 primary port. Set the dvd to master and put it on the IDE primary with the second HD as slave (on one cable). Disable the secondary IDE cahnnel in the bios and device manager (later) to free up a valuable IRQ. Set your DVD to detect CD-rom not "auto" and define your second hd also so it won't waste time auto detecting. Set the secondary ata100 to "none" so it doesn't give you that "hit f-4 to bypass detection" time waster. Go to boot up in your bios and make sure IDE is disabled and SCSI is selected instead of network detection. Make sure you have load ata bios selected also in your BIOS.

It will likely take many tweaks to get your boot time improved unless you are lucky. Search these forums and juggernaut for more info.
