Yellowish tones on monitor?

Hey guys/girls I have noticed over the past year or so that my monitor will occasionally give a yellowish tone or hue (whatever) and then go back to normal. I replaced my video card a year ago (GF2 Ti) (needed to be done anyway) and it seemed to help. But I still notice it. I am wondering if this is the monitor's problem. It is from my wife's old HP computer (Pavilion M70). Any idea why this happens and what to do about it?

This can happen rather frequently if it's a relatively old monitor that has been heavily used. What happens (from my experience) is that a pin physically loses contact with the part on the video card it needs to be connected to, or, in the monitor cable itself the wires fray as they flex over time, and can occasionally lose signal. What basically happens is you are losing the connections for one specific colour.

Try rearranging how you have the cable sitting or make sure you've screwed the cable connector in tight and see if it goes away.

Did you double post this? I swear I answered but don't see my response.

Wiggle the cable is what I was going to say.

I posted a similar question in the GH forum, but didn't get any response, so I thought this was a more appropriate forum to try. Anyway, when I wigle the cable it does help. I have rearranged a few things (cables, etc.) and it seems to help.
