Yellow or White Fog Lights?

The stock fogs on my Mazda3 are a pale yellow, looks ugly w/ my HID's...

As it never gets very foggy in FL, i wanted to change them to a nicer color... Either a deeper yellow (which would improve visibility), or a bright white (to match my HID's, although output would be reduced)

Which do ya like?

Yellow

White

umm you're gonna have to check on your state regs, some don't allow amber lights other than turn signals i think. you should be fine but i like the yellow they are so much more leet

It would help a n00b like yourself to know that "fog lights" are yellow! 😉

No, they're not. Many are, but many are plain white as well.

Whether a light is a fog light or a driving light is determined by beam pattern, not light color. A fog light is any low mounted light with a very low and sharp horizontal cutoff and a very wide beam pattern. The low horizontal cutoff prevents back-glare from the fog.

the stock fogs on my wrx are white. are you telling me I don't have foglights?!?! :brokenheart:

😛

Fog lights are fog lights because of their aim and low mount. Yellow or white makes no difference, that's your preference.

Yellow fog lights are straight fugly. Whoever decided to give them to people who run them all the time should be shot.

Get some that match your headlight bulbs.

I have a feeling that's on the way.

Yellow allows your eyes to detect differences in contrast the easiest, much more so then a white light, so use that fact in considering what to buy.

Blue is by far the worst colour you put on an incandescent bulb.
