i have a yellow line that shows up on my monitor every now and then. i can sometimes make it go away by pressing down on the top part of the line on my monitor. sometimes it's gone, but sometimes it just comes right back up. the line shows up periodically from time to time.

So you have to wiggle the connector to fix the problem? Then either the cable is bad or the connection on the monitor or card is messed up.

If it isn't the cable it is probably the fingers that connect the lcd to the display controller board. Often heating and cooling can make the connection not so good. The fix is to open it up and see what the issue is. Be very careful as the connectors between the LCD and board are very fragile.

The cable will be similar to the one in the pic marked LCD data ribbon. Note this is just a sample pic, not of the monitor you have.
