Is this a common problem? I initially installed 6.2 and all it sees is the wired NIC. And the wireless adapter is not an option when adding additional hardware. I tried installing 6.1 and got the same issue.

I also tried connecting it via a cable and updating it completely. Still nothing.

what *is* the wifi chip?

do a 'lspci' and report back what shows up...

might as well do a 'lsmod' while you're at it.. ifconfig, iwconfig..

I feel like an idiot. I forgot about lspci. I'll report back once I get home. I suppose once i find the type i might be able to choose a generic from the list. from the tutorials I've seen there is a wifi card that specifies PS3 in the description.

I'll let you know what I find out. Thanks.

I'm not sure what this list you refer to is, but that's the idea... if you can find out what it is, hopefully you can load the driver.

lspci just goes down to another prompt. I made sure to run it while logged in as root too.

lsmod Doesn't seem to give an relevant info.
