Anyone listen to Yeezus yet? It is so radically different than his last two works (although not solo) Cruel Summer and Watch the Throne. Similar to 808 and Heartbreaks. I love it! No wasted tracks.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeezus

Metacritic has it rated at 85/100: http://www.metacritic.com/music/yeezus/kanye-west

My favorite tracks are Black Skinhead, Bound 2, Guilt Trip, and Blood on the Leaves. Apparently many people are outraged by the lyrics which are viewed has women hating and racist:

What do you guys think?

Its Kanye.

He named his child North.

I did listen to the leak of the album and enjoyed it.

On your recommendation I listened to Guilt Trip. I'm not sure what this is. It's like Enya, KLF, AutoTune, and someone drunk playing with a voice-enabled synthesizer all mixed up.

Heh I told you it was "different". Up to you to decide if you like or not.

Check out "Bound 2" if you want something that resembles old school Kanye:

I'll have to check it out. If it goes back to 808's style I might dig it. Obviously it's a controversial viewpoint, but I thought 808s and Heatbreaks was his best album ever.

I love it. Its awesome, every single track.

Just got done listening to it, actually.

Actually, a writer for the Huffington Post did a really great job dissecting the messages behind alot of his songs. For example, I think it was black skinhead where he was talking about how dating a white woman made him appear to be of a higher stature than a black male who is not. Basically, he was talking about how the black community (males, in particular) are starting to see white women as a status symbol and its making us jaded.

"New Slaves" is about how Kanye has become so materialistic lately and how that takes over him and society as well. We have become slaves to brands and obsession with having money, etc.

I need to find that opinion piece because it was fantastic. I can't remember everything.

I'm not sure where you'd pick up racism in the new album...

It is definitely creative and different. I hated the album on the first listen through. The more i listen to it, the more i like it.

I really like the middle of the album the most, songs 3-7.

I feel the same way, the album dissonant at first it throws you off, but second time around it really hits.

I don't think the album is racist, just based on reviews and articles I've read. Also the "eatin' Asian pussy I need sweet and sour sauce" line from "I'm In It" doesn't help lol.

Haters gonna hate.

White hipsters gonna prostrate.

Every Kanye album is a waste of time. This time around Blood On The Leaves for example is a facepalmfest.

I'd rather listen to Tailor Swift - not that it's a recommendation in itself - there far more musical integrity and songcraft in any song of hers compared to any album from West.

Go listen to Ghostpoet if you're one of those guys who love to masturbate over stuff like this - it's far more interesting and less contrived (at least for now).
