YEE --- HAAAA. ANOTHER PREDATOR BITES THE DUST!

This one happened in the Orlando area just before midnight last night. Two predators ? armed predators ? thought it would be a good idea to rob a Blockbuster Video in Orange City. They arrived at the Blockbuster at about the same time as the father of one of the clerks working in the store. The father thought that something might not be quite right when he saw one of the predators walking into the store with a rifle.

So --- here?s your situation. Father arrives at Blockbuster to pick up his son at when the store closes. Father sees predators with guns entering store. Father realizes his son is inside that store. Father has a gun. Father also has a concealed weapons permit. Father follows predators into the store. End result? One dead predator and another with a gaping, sucking chest wound. Father is safe, as is son.

A civilian with a concealed weapons permit very likely saves his own sons life. Gotta tell you ? I just LOVE it when the day starts with a story like this.

Well folks, chalk one up for the LAWFUL use of guns.

Before you know it, surviving predator will have filed a lawsuit about excessive use of force, loss of future income, reduced quality of life, etc. The poor father will do good to lose every dime he has without going to jail.

I hope to God that this won't be the case. Does anyone know if the father was arrested? Our legal system is so screwed-up; it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the DA preferred Manslaughter charges against the father.

Personally, I want to buy him a beer or five and Blockbuster should give him free rentals for life.

You forgot to mention that Blockbuster will fire the son for his fathers actions.

Mmmmm, this is one of those real gray areas, IMO. Needs thought, cuz it could have easily gone very wrong.

Yes, I'm happy that he blew away those scumbags (I would probably have done the same - unfortunately in my country you've got absolutely no chance for a concealed weapons license - it's hard enough getting a 'guns in a solid steel super-locked cabinet welded to the wall taken out once in a blue moon under constant police supervision' license...) but if he was slower than the 'predators' things would have taken a turn for the worse... much worse.

Alrighty, those are fun to treat, get to put a huge needle into their chest to relieve pressure. Patients don't seem to enjoy it as much as we do... I wonder why not?

it's not hard to just walk up to that wounded guy and put a couple more caps in his head....
 
Predator unmanned drones have children? And they work at blockbuster? No wonder it's so hard to get service....
 
Too bad he didn't get both of them.

Thing is, most of the liberals here would say that they should have given the predators what they wanted, then called the police. Yeah right,

If you hit a guy and cause a sucking chest wound, I wouldnt assume you were shooting at him to improve his health. And shooting for the head is just plain irresponsible, unless you are using something like the Mozambique technique, in which, it should be noted, the head shot comes after TWO shots to the chest.

Unfortunately, unless he is still trying to use a weapon, once they are down, you're supposed to help them. OTOH, if you manage to kill them, the chances of getting sued go down quite a bit.

In any event, I say congrats to the dad, and yes, it would be nice if Blockbuster gave him lifetime free rentals.
 
What's crazy is that I have been in THAT Blockbuster many times. It used to be a 16,000 movies store...anyone remember them?
 
Stories like this make me wonder why people are still pushing to get guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens. After all... you'll never take the guns away from the bad guys, so why take them away from the good guys? Kudos to that dad and what he did.

Congrats goes to the father. It is almost too bad he did not kill the other person because in our skewed justice system he could potentially sue for excessive force, etc... :| It get me all ticked off just thinking about that. It's like the thread earlier about a girl who's going to get sued for "inflicting emotional anguish" when it was the psycho ex-bf that did it to himself. grr...

And let them do this every week and give nightmares to the people they rob for the rest of their life? Sounds like a good deal to me!

Why let them live? Are they contributing anything to society? Stick em in a pine box and be done with it for a few hundred bucks or do you want to spend hundreds of thousands keeping them in prison for years?

If YOUR child or other loved one was in there, what would YOU do? What if you were the father, and you decided to do nothing, and your son gets killed.

Could you live with that?

Not me. I'd go right in there behind those two scumbags and only 1 of us would be walking out if they didn't cooperate.

The father did the absolute right thing.
