Sweet Receiver. Wish I could afford it, but instead I got a AVR525. Wow I never need my speakers could sound this good compared to my old Yamaha receiver. Yeah, how much did you spend on it?

what type of speakers do you have? again I am curious. I have heard that yamaha's tend to geared to certain speakers. HK recievers are more fogiving and allow for a warmer sonic stage.

this is the place and the deal

I went for this unit for a few reasons. One of the more significant is that it will be user firmware upgradeable to the next surround modes. Also I have a DVD-A player, and as with most, has no bass management. This has a way around that problem.

I also listen to a great deal of music, and the reputation of HK sonic quality is very, very good.

I believe they are an authorized dealer for HK. I do agree. The sonic characteristics of the HK line are great just as are the Pioneer Elite. I am not a big fan of Onkyo or Denon, they are too harsh and edgy.

I have Axiom M22ti for the front, Axiom QS8 for the back, JBL S-Center for Center, HSU Research VTF-2 for Sub. The reason I bought the HK AVR525 is because of Bass management options. IMO, bass management is an invaluable too if you are into sound tweaking. Is the AVR630 replacement for the AVR525 or the AVR7200?

Nice speakers, I was looking @ Axiom but I decided to go with Ascend Acoustics instead. I am glad you mentioned that the yamaha reciever you used does not sound as good as the HK. This is pushing me more towards the HK line of recievers. Now that the new HK630 is coming out, I am going to keep an eye out for discounted 525s.
