Yeah, before you say it, I said it. Bite me. 😛

Big project at work. Lots of keyboarding. Lots of "lets see if this box is better than that one." Lots of repatching one rack to another. Lots of waiting on "this guy" to do his part with the logon script so I can do my part so the next guy can do his part...you get the idea. :frown:

I got to work at 7:00AM. Left work at 9:10PM. Got home at 10:00PM. Took a shower, checked email, chatted with the wife and now it's 2:00AM. :Q Huh? WHaaaaat? Where did my "free time" go?" 😕 Who is messin' with the clock??!!!

Yesterday; same thing. Tomorrow; same thign.

That said, I'm glad I have a good job. In this day and age I'm a lucky man.

OK, now you.

Sounds like the past two months for me with the difference I work on everything alone with people asking how it's going.

Demand overtime or comptime. If you're good you're not "lucky to have a job", they're lucky you don't go somewhere else. If it's just a few days then suck it up. I'm on a strict NO OVERTIME AT ALL so I'm bitching that I'm NOT working more than 40 hours.

Out of curiosity, what industry do you work in?

I did a 15 hour day yesterday. It was suppose to be my last day with the company since they found a replacement for me, and I broke her in a bit. Well, VP comes to me around noon and asks if I can stay late. Initially, he said eight-ish, but the sons of bitches didn't finish their part for me to do my part until 7-ish. So I ended up staying until 12am to do as much as I could cause they needed it by 12pm today.

Got home at 12:40, went straight to "sleep" until 7am. Went back at 8:30am, finally got some help, then they change shit up and I have to redo an entire portion.

I could have told them to shove it since I had no future anyways. Oh well, got a two day contract extension.

We just had a large roll out at work, the boss put me in charge of the project since I have experience with the hardware. Cool I thought, this should look nice for review time.

After a few weeks of 11-12 hour days I felt like a zombie. The worst day came when I got in at 7:00a.m., worked until 3:30p.m. had to pick up my 2 year old from daycare as he was running a fever. Wife and I go to the doctor, all is well. I go back to work at about 7:30 p.m. and work until about 10:00 a.m. I go home for a nap then am back in the office at 1:30p.m. I will not do that again, not because the hours were so bad, but I had a pretty hard time driving home, caffeine can only do so much.

Anyway, I Google'd 'noon' and was going to show you a nice picture of daylight as a (stupid) joke, but after a bunch of pictures of stupid stuff a picture of a British chick dildoing shows up on page one of the search, and I like that better. So, I think I'm just going to go fap instead. Enjoy your long days at work.

been there, done that, and did it for several months. Management was kind enough to offer a 15% pay raise and free lunch and dinner the whole time though. We were only working 10-12 hour days though and only weekends if you wanted to. Migrating a site that generated a million a day in revenue from one technology stack to another is no joke. We got it done though, lost half the team in the process but increased revenue to 1.5 mill before I left (after the bugs were worked out).

Can't sympathize really. There isn't any pressure to work more than 8hrs/day at work, though they compensate for that by firing anyone that isn't pretty good at what they do.

Network/Security Architecture consulting with emphasis on large manufacturing, healthcare and service provider. It's not a brag but my time is worth money and time is money.

I was done with salary long ago.
