Yeah Yeah, I know my rent is more than your mortgage...

Yea, my wife and I are paying $1210/month for a 620 square foot apartment in the SF Bay Area. We got a special promotion price too, it would normally be $125 more a month.

Although I love California, I want to start my own business and move somewhere else. Just not sure what the hell to do.

I love it when people bitch about their rent, and I casually bring up that their rent is more than the mortgage on my brand new house. It especially feels good when they've been to my house and realize how much nicer it is than their dumpy apartment.

Every time it happens, it turns out that the renter or their spouse has so totally trashed their credit that they can't get a mortgage.

I'm tired of people telling me how their mortgage is less than my rent. Did you ever think it's maybe because you bought your house 6+ years ago before people started going insane with prices. If I wasn't 19 six years ago I probably would have a house too instead of paying $1600 for a two bedroom apartment. And sorry if I don't want to fork out $550k for a 2 bedroom condo built in 1976 just so I could hopefully build some kind of equity. No thanks.

Oh, and I really don't care about your cousins friend who lives in Texas or where ever that just bought a huge house for $98k and felt they got ripped off. If you want I'll buy it and rent it to them.

Just a rant about living in California. Thanks for reading...

Yep, I go through this damn near everyday. Fortunately our rent is only $1250 in this fine city of San Jose. I'd rather rent than live in a crappy 1940's home or a Condo with section 8 renters/owners.

I'm saving up and when the crash comes, if it ever does, I'll be in a great position of buying someones foreclosure😎

Or the simple fact that a $200k house in your area probably comes closer to $600k out here. Its worth every GD penny IMO.
