There's only one available! Lmao! $230? I could build that in an afternoon for way less than half that

There's a lot of things people could accomplish in one afternoon, but then there's also the option of opening your wallet and being done in a matter of minutes.

We lol @ $230, but there are people who will pay that much.

I was just googling raised garden beds for design ideas, and I literally have the exact same setup just laying in the grass right now.

Cedar isn't cheap, but it isn't $50 a board lol

Cedar lumber isn't cheap; I paid at least $150 in lumber costs to build a similarly sized raised bed a year or so ago.

Quick price check on 1"x6"x8' cedar boards shows under $10 a board at Lowe's and Home Depot, far less than that elsewhere. You need 6 plus 1 4x4x8 for the posts, maybe $15 for that. I think lumber costs would be $75 at the most.

Lowes and Home Depot by me didn't carry any cedar lumber. I used 2x6 lumber for the sides and 4x4 for the posts. There were different grades at the lumber yard (which was almost certainly more expensive than Lowes/HD), but even the cheaper grades were pricey.

Well, they named it "CityFARM," so I think that pretty much clears up what the intended demographic is here.

Check out the bigger lumber yards, not big box stores. I built raised beds a few years ago out of 2" X 10" X 12' cedar and I don't remember going into bankruptcy.

:hmm:

That's actually nicely made - it's got mitred corners.

I built on a couple of years ago like this:

Probably cost me $120 in materials. Notice, no mitred corners :).

not bad. i been thinking of building something like that. a raised garden would be a hell of a lot better on the knees and back.

I'd buy that cedar bed at $230 + $25 in shipping if I were looking for one.

Cedar isn't cheap, and that has what looks like nice cedar and is well finished.

I'd say it was about 50% in materials or more so you are looking at about a normal hour or so labor from most woodworkers.

lmao that's hilarious. I could see maybe paying like $40 for that at most. I've seen shelving units at home depot, canadian tire and other places go for under $100 and using way more lumber.

I built two of those on Sunday out of western red cedar from Home Depot.

Lumber + screws was $160.

It is cedar, you could not build it for $40.

The price is high, but it's not insane.
