Yeah so.. why is our 'W' pronounced as 'double-u' and not 'doube-v'?

I know in Spanish it's pronouced 'doub-le-veh', so why don't we say 'double-v'. Huh... HUH?!

Some other countries which speak english say "double-v." Similar to how other english speaking countries say "Zed" instead of "zee" for the letter 'z' and naught instead of zero for the number 0.
