I can pickup various boxes for shipping items at the post office right? And they won't give a sh!t if i'm under 18 right? And when i buy the box, the postage comes with it right?

I have *NEVER* mailed *ANYTHING* in my LIFE!! I NEVER HAD TO!! until now, stupid mp3 player is acting up, Intel wants me to send it back...

Thanks

BTW, usps.gov didn't have a n00b FAQ

if u mail stuff at the post office via usps priority mail, u can get the boxes for free from the post office. just ask the clerk there. but stuffing material is all up to u.

postage come with boxes? uh no.

priority mail and express mail materials stuff is free. ask for it and they give it to you. keep some newspaper in your car, go outisde, ask them to tape it shut with priority mail tape and then pay to ship it.

youre how old and has never had to mail anything?

fatbaby, just go to one of those MailBoxes Etc. kind of places and they will box it up and pack properly for you and send it any multitude of ways depending on the time frame that you have for it to get there. A little more expensive but less headache.

Ok fine, let me reword it a little, i never had to go to the post office to mail anything :), yea of course i mailed plenty of stuff via "drop it in the mailbox" things...

So how big of a box would you need to securely pack a 3 inch by 1.5 inch and 3/4 inch tall mp3 player? 12x12? And how much would you expect it to cost?

different post offices have different varieties of boxes. usually when i go to a post office, i either bring some bubble wrap with me (which i got from packages other ppl sent me... hehe... recycled bubble wrap rules)... or i grab a few copies of those free local newspapers. just package it so that when u shake the box, u don't hear much bouncing around. being u r sending it back for RMA, i would go the extra mile to make sure to have bubble wrap (2 inches all around), as well as insure it. the USPS boxes that the post office offers is pretty sturdy, but if they do not have the size u r looking for, just buy one from a mailbox etc. some manufacturers are pretty strict about how stuff comes in for RMAs... so better safe then sorry. it'l prolly only set u back like $5 more.

Be very careful when you walk into the Post Office. They have closed circuit camera and 50 cal maching guns covering every square inch of the facility. I remember one time when I reached for my wallet too quickly to pay for a first class postage stamp and a sniper put a round into the wall less than 3 inches from my nose. Don't mess with these people. The term "postal" has a long and glorious history of dead people. Just walk slow, talk slow and move slow and you will have a good chance of leaving the facilityl alive.

Yes, but technically you should "cover" any markings (logos, e.g.) on boxes you reuse (mark them out, brown tape, paper bag, etc.).

They sell boxes there but postage isn't included

If you ship priority or express mail, the boxes/envelopes are free

All of those boxes are pretty large....the 7"x7"x6" box would be OK, though. Just wrap the player in bubble wrap and either fill the rest of the box with bubble wrap or peanuts.
