Yea! My first Amazon buyer who can't read a product description

Was bound to happen at Amazon at some point as well.

I sold the Ooma Scout - http://www.amazon.com/ooma-Sco...Service/dp/B0010W84A0/ - that was included with my Ooma Hub when I bought it a month or two ago. I had no use for it and it was still brand new.

So I list the product at Amazon, which notes in two places;

"to use with VoIP Phone Device" - in the product title
"An ooma Hub is required to enjoy the ooma Scout's functionality" in Technical Details with PLEASE NOTE in bold as well as mentioned again further down in the description.

So today I get an e-mail;

"I bought the ooma scout. i can't use unless i buy the ooma hub. and most of the places sell the package. so do you have an idea how to procure the ooma hub, otherwise i will need to send you back the product for refund."

🙁 :beer: 🙁

You were clear. He should have read it, it's his problem. No refund, no return.

The person bought the item as described. Only thing you could have done differently would be slightly change the title of the item to be OOMA SCOUT ONLY (must buy Ooma hub separately).

Your labeling sounds fine to me. I don't use this stuff but if I started looking at using it I would know what you meant without any issue.

Edit: I don't know if you put in the "related media" but that video shows the entire product and not just the scout..... that could be part of the issue.

That's Amazon's description, not his. I think you'll be fine OP.

You best refund the idiot his money, on Amazon.com the buyer's always right.

I offered a refund, but noted that I would not return initial shipping, they would be responsible for return shipping using a traceable carrier, and if the product was no longer new/sealed they would have a 10% restocking fee deducted from the refund.

Unfortunately, all items on amazon are returnable.

I bet you he'll try to avoid that by going through Amazon and you'll be forced to refund completely...

sounds resonable

Thats why you make your descriptions idiot proof. Make it crystal clear. What you should have said was "An Ooma Hub, which is not included in the package, is required to enjoy the Ooma Scout's functionality. The Ooma Hub is not included in the package. You must buy it separately." You violated Murphy's law and paid the price.
